Certainly the time is right for a series of larger pieces by Dara Mark. In her latest collection, Dara has created several horizontal pieces and one vertically formatted work, Thanis #15.
As with her smaller work, Dara Mark invites us to reconsider the very essence of the world. Each composition is a stilled moment of fluid action, where the dappled flow slips over the rocks. But in reality she has captured the luminosity of the very light in the water, the reflections of the wet stones, the blurred streambed. And in that stop action moment she shows us that the water, the stones and the light are one element.
